Fingerboard Farm Research Journal
Weekly notes from the farm, cannabinoid research and land stewardship.
News from the Farm
There is something special about Sunday on the farm — a little time to slow down, sip something warm, and catch up on what is growing, changing, and taking shape at Fingerboard Farm.
This week we’re sharing progress on our historic roof restoration project, a research update on CBDA and liver health, and a Sunday coffee & tea special so you can sip and read along with us.

Historic Roof Restoration at Fingerboard Farm
One of the most exciting projects underway at Fingerboard Farm this spring is the restoration of the roof on one of our historic farm buildings. Preserving the structures that make up the heart of this property is an important part of protecting the agricultural and cultural history of the farm.
Thanks to support from a Historic Preservation Grant, we are able to begin restoring this beautiful building so it can continue serving the farm and welcoming visitors for many years to come.
The work is still in progress, and we wanted to share a few photos so you can see the restoration as it unfolds. Projects like this help us protect the legacy of Fingerboard Farm while continuing to grow our mission of agriculture, education, and innovation.

Cannabinoid Research Update: CBDA and Liver Health
At Fingerboard Farm, we closely follow the emerging science around minor and acidic cannabinoids found naturally in the hemp plant.
One compound receiving growing attention from researchers is CBDA (cannabidiolic acid), the natural precursor to CBD found in raw hemp. Scientists are now exploring how CBDA interacts with metabolic pathways in the body, including those related to liver health.
Recent laboratory research suggests CBDA may influence how the liver processes fats and regulates lipid metabolism, an area of interest in studies related to fatty liver disease. While this research is still in early stages and more clinical studies are needed, it highlights the expanding scientific curiosity around acidic cannabinoids and their potential biological activity.
At Fingerboard Farm, we remain committed to supporting responsible research and continuing to learn from the evolving science behind the hemp plant.
